T-Rex
Daniel Benjamim is T-Rex and was the most listened to Portuguese artist in 2023, but he first came to prominence in mid-2018 with the EP Chá de Camomila. With the follow-up EPs Gota D’Espaço (2020) and CASTANHO (2022), he reinforced the enormous talent of an artist who refuses labels and prefers to invent his own formulas.
The story promises to be a long one and success was already predictable: in 2021, one of the most difficult years for cultural figures, the rapper sold out two Tivolis. In 2023, with the release of the long-awaited album ‘COR D’ÁGUA’, the most listened to album of the year in Portugal, he sold out the Coliseu de Lisboa and the Coliseu do Porto.
In 2024, he won the Vodafone Prémios Play award for Best Album of the Year. Live, he is the pinnacle of competent euphoria. Unstoppable, T-Rex fills any stage he is given, without missing a single note from the studio version. Since 2018, he has accumulated 14 Gold singles, 6 Platinum, 7 Double Platinum and 3 Quintuple Platinum. With more than half of COR D'ÁGUA awarded, T-Rex's latest project promises to be immortalised in the speakers and pages of Portuguese urban music history.
