Orquestra Bamba Social

Orquestra Bamba Social is a group from Porto united by their love for samba. They present original works and revisit various classics of Brazilian music, giving them a new look and adding sounds from other styles such as jazz, funk, and hip-hop.

Each of their four albums features numerous collaborations with other musicians, such as Marcelo D2, Miguel Araújo, Moacyr Luz, Tatanka, Teresa Cristina, Tiago Nacarato, among others.

In 2022, they released Mundo Novo, recorded between Porto, Rio de Janeiro, and Den Helder in the Netherlands, involving more than 30 musicians and revealing a new creative phase of the band, exploring other sounds and expanding horizons within the Lusophone universe.

More recently, the group released Orquestra Bamba Social revisita Moacyr Luz (2024), an album in which they pay homage to the composer and living legend of samba by reinterpreting some of his most emblematic themes, along with two original tracks.
