Marlene Tavares, better known as Nenny, is a young international artist of Cape Verdean descent who grew up in a musical environment rich in African rhythms.
In 2019, she released her first single, Sushi, and quickly rose to fame, performing at the MEO Sudoeste festival just three months later, where she shared the stage with Wet Bed Gang. Just two months later, she released her second single, Bússola [Compass], which propelled her into the Portuguese hip-hop music scene, garnering millions of views on various digital platforms.
In 2020, she released her first EP, AURA, and was nominated for the Play Awards and the Golden Globes in the Revelation category. In 2021 she participated in the acclaimed Colors and Tiny Desk, promoted by NPR Music. In 2022, she was nominated for the MTV European Music Awards in the Best Portuguese Act category and was selected as one of the 30 people under 30 in entertainment by Forbes magazine.
