Milhanas, a young Portuguese singer and songwriter born in 2001, stands out for the intensity and authenticity of her musical creations. From an early age, she immersed herself in the world of music, studying violin, vocal technique, and participating in various musical projects, from jazz to modern music, including gospel. Strongly influenced by her father, Milhanas brings an intimate approach to her art, exploring themes of introspection and melancholy.
Portuguese literature, which she discovered in high school, has a deep influence on her writing, reflected in her poetic and dense lyrics. In 2021, she released her first original song, "Lamentos", followed by "Mais que ao Sol" and "Mundo". In May 2023, she made her album debut with "De Sombra a Sombra", where she explores the challenges of the soul, but without the work becoming an "ode to sadness," as she herself states. The single "Eu de Prosa" which alludes to fado and Amália Rodrigues, is one of the standout tracks, featuring a music video that evokes the symbolism of a famous dress worn by the fado singer.
Recognized for her talent and intensity, Milhanas was nominated for the 2024 Golden Globes in the Best Performer category, adding to her many other nominations and awards, consolidating her place as one of the most promising voices in contemporary Portuguese music.
At the end of 2024, the artist released the single "Algo Mais" which was warmly received by the public and radio stations. Milhanas started the year with two unmissable concerts to a full house at Casa da Música in Porto and CCB in Lisbon. These concerts marked the end of a cycle, along with her latest song (and bonus track on the album) "Apagar A Sombra". Milhanas is currently on tour with dozens of concerts from north to south of the country, and the future will bring new challenges and projects that promise to further explore her artistic magnitude.
